Case study of gault brick cleaning and lime mortar brick pointing restoration in Swiss Cottage, London.

Brick Cleaning Restoration

To restore the gault brick we have used a steam cleaning method, which allows us to clean dirt and grease off and bring brickwork to its original condition.

Lime Mortar Pointing

When the brick cleaning was completed we have used dimmed lime mortar for repointing the brickwork, as the client has chosen.

Flush Finish Pointing

The client has picked a dimmed colour of mortar and flush type of pointing. This type of pointing gives a rough “old look” appearance to the brickwork.
